Tras muchos años sin poder asistir a este formidable evento, este año, el colectivo de World is Music ha tenido la oportunidad de volver a un festival que nos abrió imensamente nuestros horizontes musicales. The 2017 edition of the Italian electronic and experimental music festival FAT FAT FAT run by the Italian collective Harmonized Soundsystem has again exceeded all expectations. From August 4-6 we experienced the mix of musical quality and an unbelievable setting between the historical piazza of the medieval town Morrovalle and a beautiful old farm site in Corridonia, on the Adriatic coast of Italy. This festival convinced in his only second edition with a high-end line up including the likes of the Yussef Kamaal Trio, Nightmares on Wax, Funkineven, the incredible Jayda G or the producer-collector Awesome Tapes from Africa. Continuing on this track it will be no wonder to soon find the FAT FAT FAT among the best-curated alternative electronic music festivals in Europe.
At the end of August we were finally on our way to the Southern tip of the Istrian Coast of the Adriatic – Pula, a city full of Roman heritage with a magnificent abandoned fort of the 17th century. We would spend the days from the 23rd to the 28th of August at the amazing Dimensions Festival 2016, the 5th edition of the by now internationally recognized dance music festival organised by a bunch of British music lovers who seem to have discovered the perfect festival setting.
Last weekend we had the pleasure to visit one of the upcoming Swedish underground electronic music festivals, the second edition of the Into the Valley, taking place in the wonderful green middle of Scandinavia, three hours in the north-west of Stockholm. Its main stage being an amphitheatre within an impressive old limestone quarry in midst of idyllic green woods, plus the impressive line up are symbolic for the fact that it has all it needs to become a new melting pot for the upfront of the international electronic music scene in the otherwise rather unpopulated Swedish landscape of electronic festivals.

Once again, Omar Souleyman has managed to deliver us an incredible concert that we will not forget so quickly. Copenhagen’s Pumpehuset, that reminds us of some underground Berlin-based nightclubs, was packed until the edge – and not stop to rise. Is something to remark the great soundsystem of the club and the price of the drinks, so cheap for this city! Read more… … Omar Souleyman Live @ Pumpehuset, CPH
